The Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Denys Fomin-Nilov, responded to Deputy Dastan Bekeshev's statement regarding salary cuts for teachers. Fomin-Nilov clarified that they are not cutting salaries but implementing an efficient contract system in line with the Ministry of Education's roadmap for creating 4.0 format universities.
He emphasized the importance of evaluating teachers based on their actual work and merits, rather than formalities. Fomin-Nilov highlighted the need for bonuses and stimulating payments to be given to those who work long and intensively, with quality and discipline.
Fomin-Nilov pointed out the university's instrument of research mini-grants as an additional payment for scientific work, thanks to financial support from the Russian Federation. He noted that the university would not be able to afford such a research support program without this external assistance.
Previously, parliament deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised concerns about salary reductions for teachers at the university and called for the establishment of a governing council. Fomin-Nilov's response sheds light on the university's efforts to maintain fair compensation and recognition for its teaching staff.
