Consultations have been held between the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported on the discussions.
The talks focused on further joint measures to strengthen requirements and control in the sphere of conformity assessment of products to mandatory requirements. The consultations were organized following joint visits to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan by specialists.
As a result, the parties agreed on the joint implementation of the following measures aimed at preventing the issuance of gray certificates:
- Further integration of their information systems in the field of technical regulation;
- Immediate measures to exclude certification bodies that have violated procedures for conformity assessment from the national parts of the unified register of certification bodies;
- Implementation of a regulation for prompt information exchange on identified violations;
- Digitization of the conformity assessment processes (certification and declaration) from application submission to document issuance;
- Development and use of timeframes and testing deadlines for products;
- Strengthening measures for photo documentation of tests and prompt sharing of results upon request;
- Improvement and strengthening of requirements, responsibilities of certification experts (auditors), conformity assessment bodies, laboratories, control and supervisory authorities, and more.
"With the consultations and exchange of relevant letters taken into account, the parties agreed to implement the comprehensive measures without imposing restrictions or bans on the circulation of products accompanied by conformity assessment documents of a unified format issued by the conformity assessment bodies of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan," emphasized the Ministry of Economy.
