During a working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Italy on March 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held negotiations with the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Alvaro Lario, and the Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Maurizio Martina. The discussions focused on cooperation in the agricultural sector between Turkmenistan and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. The parties also explored potential new areas of collaboration in this field.
Issues related to the implementation of current and planned joint projects were discussed with the FAO leadership during the negotiations. Special attention was given to food security and climate change matters.
