On March 27, the international conference "Key Directions and Potential of Tourism Development in Turkmenistan" took place at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat. Representatives from Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, China, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Korea, and Sri Lanka participated in the event. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on the conference.
Key aspects identified to enhance Turkmenistan's tourist appeal included expanding the geography and diversity of tourist tours, improving service quality, training specialized professionals, establishing information support, and international relations in the tourism sector.
During the conference, the significant importance of including Turkmenistan's landmarks in the UNESCO World Heritage List was highlighted. The enhancement of Turkmenistan's tourism potential is also being achieved through the implementation of extensive reforms in the country.
