Turkmenistan is diversifying its export portfolio, with agricultural goods taking the lead. The country has seen a significant increase in tomato exports to Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. In the first three months of 2024, tomato exports grew by 3% compared to the same period last year, with a 20% increase in shipments to Kazakhstan. From 2020 to 2023, export growth reached 239%, with 128,000 tons of tomatoes sold in 2023 – a 3.4-fold increase from 2020. The majority of tomato exports (57%) went to Russia, followed by Kazakhstan at 28%.
