The maritime trading fleet of Turkmenistan has revealed its performance indicators for the first quarter of 2024, as reported by the online publication "Orient."
According to the report, the volume of cargo transported by the fleet during the first quarter of this year reached 586.5 thousand tons, exceeding the figures of the same period last year by 14.1%. The cargo transportation plan for the first quarter was exceeded by 133.3%.
Cargo turnover indicators for the first three months amounted to over 236 million ton-kilometers, a 4.2% increase compared to the previous year. The cargo turnover plan was exceeded by 188%. The passenger turnover plan was exceeded by 355%, with a total of 1.910 million passenger-kilometers. This figure marks a 44.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
The growth rate of container transportation reached 184.4%, with 1879 TEU containers transported. This substantial growth showcases the positive trajectory of Turkmenistan's maritime fleet in expanding its operations and meeting transportation demands efficiently.
