Delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Turkmenistan held talks with representatives from the Turkmen Dostluk (Turkmenistan Railways) Agency. The meeting discussed the potential for creating transport corridors, including railways, in Turkmenistan. The high transport potential of Turkmenistan was highlighted, particularly focusing on the opportunities presented by the Lazurite Corridor connecting Afghanistan with Turkey and Europe, as well as the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway route linking Central Asian countries, the Caspian Sea, and neighboring regions.
Earlier, the Japanese delegates were briefed on the logistical capabilities of the international seaport of Turkmenbashi.
