Chinese corporation China CAMC Engineering (CAMCE) is planning to build the first waste incineration plant in Uzbekistan, as reported by the Ministry of Ecology press service.

A memorandum of cooperation for this project was signed on May 2 by the Minister of Ecology, Environment Protection, and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov, and the company's chairman, Wan Bo.

The company intends to send an expert group to study and organize waste management activities in Uzbekistan and develop the initial plant project to present to the country's leadership.

CAMCE will also explore prospects for cooperation in ecotourism and the possibility of constructing a new cable car in the mountainous regions of the Samarkand region.

In December, the Ministry of Ecology and Tadweer (UAE) signed a memorandum during the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, envisioning the implementation of "green" technologies in the solid waste management sector, as well as the launch of a power plant through waste incineration.

Waste incineration plants utilize technology for industrial and solid household waste disposal through thermal decomposition in boilers or furnaces. This process generates thermal and electrical energy by harnessing the heat of combustion.
