Uzbek Boxer Israil Madrimov Awarded Major Title by Ministry of Internal Affairs

Professional boxer from Uzbekistan, Israil Madrimov, who recently won the WBA world title in the super middleweight division, has been granted the rank of major in the internal affairs department, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service.

Originally from the Khorezm region, Madrimov claimed the WBA championship title by defeating the previously undefeated Russian boxer Magomed Kurbanov in Saudi Arabia on March 8th.

During an award ceremony at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Cultural Palace on March 18th, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Pulat Bobojonov, presented Madrimov with the new major epaulets.

The ministry highlighted Madrimov's achievements in representing Uzbekistan globally and praised his latest victory in the super middleweight category, leading to the early promotion to the rank of major from his previous title of captain.

The criteria for the early conferral of this special title are outlined in the regulations governing service in the internal affairs department.
