Top Chess Players to Compete in Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland 2024

Chess player from Uzbekistan, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, will participate in the Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland 2024 tournament, which will take place from May 7th to May 12th in Warsaw.

Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland is a super tournament and the first stage of the Grand Chess Tour series this year, with a prize fund of $175,000.

The tournament will feature top players including the world's leading player and defending champion of the tournament, Magnus Carlsen from Norway (rating - 2830, 1st place), Nodirbek Abdusattorov from Uzbekistan (2765, 5th place), D. Gukesh from India (2763, 6th place), Arjun Erigaisi from India (2761, 8th place), Wei Yi from China (2755, 10th place), Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa from India (2747, 14th place), Anish Giri from the Netherlands (2745, 15th place), Jan-Krzysztof Duda from Poland (2733, 18th place), Vincent Keymer from Germany (2726, 26th place), and Kirill Shevchenko from Romania (2677, 56th place).

The tournament will be conducted using a round-robin system. In the first round of rapid chess, a win will earn 2 points, a draw 1 point, and in the second round of blitz, a win will earn 1 point, a draw 0.5 points.

The time control for rapid chess will be 25 minutes plus 10 seconds per move, and for blitz, 5 minutes plus 2 seconds per move. A total of 135 games will be played over the course of five days.

Previously, Nodirbek Abdusattorov emerged victorious in the Tepe Sigeman-2024 tournament in Sweden. He also leads the annual rating for qualification in the Candidates Tournament (FIDE Circuit).
