From April 12 to 21, the World Junior and Youth Fencing Championship took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Uzbekistan's team members secured one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, as announced by the National Olympic Committee's press service.
The medalists are as follows:
Gold:
Sardor Abdulkarimbekov (sabre, juniors);
Silver:
Alpamis Urakbayev (sabre, juniors);
Bronze:
Fernanda Errera (sabre, youth);
Nargiza Zhaksibayeva (sabre, juniors).
This achievement marks the best performance for Uzbek fencers at world championships. On April 27-28, the team will participate in the Paris 2024 licensing tournament in Fujairah, UAE.
