Uzbekistan U-23 Team Advances to AFC U-23 Championship Final in Qatar

The Uzbekistan U-23 national team achieved victory over Indonesia and advanced to the final of the AFC U-23 Championship, taking place in Qatar from April 15 to May 3. The match on April 29 ended with a score of 2:0.

In the 27th minute of the game, Uzbekistan could have conceded a penalty, but after a VAR check, the referee determined that Abdukodir Husanov did not commit a foul.

In the 63rd minute, Indonesia scored a goal, but it was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.

Five minutes later, Uzbekistan U-23 opened the scoring - Muhammadkodir Khamraliev crossed into the box, where substitute striker Husain Norchaev redirected the ball into the opponent's net.

In the 82nd minute, the referee showed a red card to defender Rizki Ramadani for a foul on Jhasur Jaloliddinov.

In the 86th minute, Uzbekistan executed a free-kick, the goalkeeper saved the initial shot, but Abdukodir Husanov followed up, hitting the post, with the ball deflecting off Pratama Arkhan into the net (own goal).

Thus, Uzbekistan U-23 secured a spot in the final of the AFC U-23 Championship, ensuring their qualification for the Olympics for the first time in history. The Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.

On May 3 at 20:30, the team will compete against Japan U-23 for the championship title, as Japan defeated Iraq U-23 with a score of 2:0.

The AFC U-23 Championship is an international tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation, held every two years. The current edition is taking place in Qatar from April 15 to May 3, serving as a qualifying tournament for the AFC for the 2024 Summer Olympics in France. The top three teams from the tournament will qualify for the Olympics as representatives of Asia, while the fourth-placed team will participate in a playoff match. A total of 16 teams are competing in the tournament, with Saudi Arabia being the reigning champion.
