The victory at the Prague Chess Festival allowed Uzbek chess player Nodirbek Abdusattorov to climb to fourth place in the live ratings. Chess coach Georgy Shvanov discusses this success and the opportunities it presents.

The super tournament in Prague, held from February 27 to March 7, attracted even those who are not avid chess followers. Grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov, securing victory after victory, first entered the top 10 and then the top 5 of the world's strongest chess players.

Despite not being the clear favorite at the start of the competition, Abdusattorov's performance was outstanding. Facing tough opponents, he showcased his skill in the game. By the end of the tournament, he had surpassed the current world champion Ding Liren, claiming the 4th position.

The tournament results will only be reflected in the April FIDE rating list, as the official chess ratings are updated monthly. Abdusattorov's rise in the rankings was influenced not only by the Prague games but also by his performances in the Bundesliga.

Looking ahead, Abdusattorov's high position opens up new opportunities for him in elite tournaments. While missing out on the 2024 Candidates Tournament, he remains focused on his goal of competing in the World Championship.

The victory in Prague not only solidifies Abdusattorov's position among the world's best chess players but also sets the stage for potential future successes in his career. With determination and skill, Abdusattorov continues to make his mark on the global chess scene, leaving fans eager to see what the future holds for this rising star.
