Chairman of the Majilis, Erlan Koshanov, announced during a plenary session on March 20th the upcoming parliamentary hearings on the matters voiced at the National Kurultai. He emphasized the importance of President Tokayev's address, considering it a comprehensive programmatic document outlining key directions for the country's spiritual, ideological, and socio-economic development aimed at improving the well-being of the people. Koshanov highlighted the urgency in addressing the tasks set forth by the head of state, calling for prompt action in their implementation.

The Speaker of the Majilis underscored the President's position on the proposal to update the national emblem, encouraging a unified and balanced decision through public discussion. This initiative aims to engage experts in heraldry to ensure that the emblem reflects the country's history, achievements, uniqueness, and spirituality, serving as a unifying symbol for all citizens towards a brighter future. A special commission will be tasked with organizing discussions with the public on this matter.

Furthermore, Koshanov mentioned the President's directive to consider a bill combating ludomania, initiated by parliamentarians, during the current session. Legislative solutions are also needed to address issues related to drug production and distribution, vandalism, as well as the improvement of legislation in the fields of archaeology, state symbolism, and state awards. Koshanov stressed the importance of conducting parliamentary hearings on the topics raised at the National Kurultai to collectively define goals and tasks for implementing specific proposals put forward at the event.

During the National Kurultai on March 15th, President Tokayev proposed the idea of updating Kazakhstan's national emblem, considering feedback from professionals and concerned citizens, including the youth, regarding its complexity and elements reminiscent of the Soviet era. Deputy of the Majilis, Erkin Abil, reported that discussions on the emblem's renewal have commenced and should be channeled through civilized channels.

In addition to emblem renewal discussions, President Tokayev suggested stricter penalties for synthetic drug production, the launch of a new housing program, and addressed the harmful trend of vaping.
