At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Dastan Bekeshev addressed the government representative in parliament, Almas Abytov, asking not to demolish the houses in Ataturk Park.
"Already one person has died. Due to what is happening, his blood pressure has increased. It was necessary to determine the boundaries of the park, but there is no need to take away and destroy someone's property. If previous mayors, presidents, deputies, judges, prosecutors allowed it before us, why should we cancel everything?" the deputy said.
He asked the residents of the houses near Ataturk Park to consider the issue at the presidential administration.
In April, the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, signed a resolution approving the boundaries of Ataturk Park. According to archival data from the Bishkekglavarchitectura Municipal Enterprise, 198 objects fall within the return zone. However, the number of these objects, according to the mayor, may be higher. The municipality assures that they will act within the framework of the legislation regarding real estate objects, prepare and file lawsuits in courts. The municipality has sent materials to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
