During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies ratified agreements between the governments of China, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the government of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the joint promotion of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project.
The information on the bill was presented by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Yrysbek Bariyev. According to him, the new railway corridor will serve as a southern branch of the Eurasian continental bridge, providing access to the markets of Southeast and West Asia, as well as the countries of the Middle East.
The route will facilitate the transportation of goods from China to Kyrgyzstan, as well as to countries in Central Asia and the Middle East, including Turkey and further into the European Union. The project will enhance competitiveness in the international market for transit transportation by reducing distance and delivery time of goods.
After deliberation, the deputies approved the bill on the ratification of the agreement in three readings.
