The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft Presidential Decree "On the signing of the Treaty on deepening and expanding the allied relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic."
The agreement aims to enhance and strengthen cooperation in various fields, including political, military, trade, agriculture, transit, transportation, water-energy, educational, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. It is based on mutual respect, trust, equality, and consideration of national interests.
Both countries commit to not participate in any blocs or alliances against each other, ensuring their territories and resources are not used for aggression. They also pledge not to allow third-party states to use their territories for armed actions against the other.
The treaty also emphasizes coordinated border policies to combat cross-border challenges, threats, and risks. Additionally, it focuses on expanding and deepening trade and economic cooperation, creating favorable conditions for mutual access to goods, services, and investments.
The Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan relations, rooted in the 1997 Treaty of Eternal Friendship and the 2003 Treaty of Allied Relations, are further supported by over 150 bilateral agreements covering various cooperation areas.
The signed treaty, in Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Russian, will be submitted for ratification in the Parliament of Kazakhstan. The document is available on the Open Regulatory Legal Acts website for public discussion until April 5.
In related news, Kazakhstan plans to collaborate in different sectors with the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
