Kazakhstan and Cyprus signed a memorandum of understanding on air communication on March 25. The memorandum was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Konstantinos Kombos.
The memorandum allows for up to seven flights per week by designated carriers from each side, as well as the designation of multiple carriers from each side. Kazakh airlines are now permitted to operate flights to Larnaca and Paphos, while Cypriot airlines can fly to Astana and Almaty.
Earlier on March 25, 2024, in Astana, an official visit by the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs to Kazakhstan led to the signing of an agreement between the two countries on the transfer of convicted persons.
