Kazakhstan President Discusses Bilateral Cooperation and International Security with US Senator

The head of state welcomed American Senator Steve Daines on March 26. According to Akorda, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the traditionally high dynamics of Kazakh-American cooperation during the meeting.

The President emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in bilateral relations and discussed trade and economic cooperation. Kazakhstan's leader underscored the country's focus on attracting investments, economic liberalization, and industrial development, with key areas of cooperation including energy, exploration and processing of minerals, and infrastructure modernization.

International and regional security issues were also addressed, with special attention given to Kazakhstan's condemnation of a recent terrorist act in the Moscow region, showing solidarity with Russia.

President Tokayev stressed the importance of all countries uniting efforts within a comprehensive international coalition to combat terrorism, regardless of any contradictions in their relations. Kazakhstan is ready to contribute to this important cause.

Prior to this meeting, the head of state also met with the Foreign Minister of Cyprus on March 25.
