Melting Waters Cause Airport Closure in Aktobe

in Politics / Kazakhstan - by

The operations of Aktobe airport have been significantly impacted by melting waters, leading to the closure of the airfield for flight arrivals and departures. The airport's press service highlighted the need to check the current flight schedule with the airport information desk or airlines directly.

Due to ongoing maintenance work on the runway, the airport will remain closed for aircraft operations from 06:30 to 17:00. Several flights have been affected by the closure, including routes to and from Istanbul, Astana, Almaty, Atyrau, and Sharm el-Sheikh.

Meanwhile, adverse weather conditions continue to cause surprises in the region. In the city of Zhem, a bridge leading to a former airfield collapsed, affecting the transportation route used by local farmers. The situation remains challenging as authorities work to address the consequences of the melting waters and weather-related incidents in Aktobe and its surrounding areas.
