The Senate deputies ratified a protocol simplifying citizens' stays between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The agreement aims to strengthen friendly relations, regulate citizens' trips, and create favorable conditions for stays.
Citizens can now stay up to 30 days without registration. The protocol allows for simplified stays without the need for registration if the visit does not exceed 30 days. This extension from 5 to 30 days benefits both countries. Additionally, citizens can enter, exit, transit, and move within the other country for a total of 90 days within 180 days without temporary residence permits. If the stay exceeds 30 days, a temporary residence permit is required.
The ratification of the protocol is expected to have no negative socio-economic or legal consequences and will not require additional financial expenses from the state budget. In a separate development, the Mazhilis deputies ratified a treaty on alliance between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in February.
