Kazakhstan Prime Minister Addresses Flood Situation; Promises Compensation

Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Olzhas Bektenov, commented on the outcomes of the operational meeting chaired by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The video was released by Akorda.

"The head of state conducted an operational meeting regarding the flood situation. A Republican headquarters has been established in the government, led by the Prime Minister. All issues will be under round-the-clock control. Those responsible will be held accountable. Citizens affected by the floods will not be neglected. All damages will be compensated," stated Bektenov.

Earlier, President Tokayev issued a severe reprimand to the First Deputy Prime Minister, Roman Sklyar, and the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov. He then instructed to assess the extent of the damage caused by the natural disaster. Additionally, the head of state extended his apologies to those affected by the floods.
