Natalya Godunova, born on May 24, 1972, in Uralsk, graduated from the West Kazakhstan Agricultural Institute with a degree in Economics and the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, holding a Ph.D. in Economics.
Her career began in 1993 as an economist at "Agroprombank" Oral. Over the years, she held various positions in different regions and sectors, including roles in the West Kazakhstan territorial committee managing state assets, as well as advisory positions in the Kazakhstan-Russia trade representation.
In 2018, she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Audit Committee overseeing the national budget execution. Throughout her career, Godunova received prestigious awards such as the Honorary Diploma of Kazakhstan (2008), the orders of "Qurmet" (2016), "Parasat" (2021), and commemorative medals.
The decision to relieve Godunova of her duties marks a significant change in the leadership of the High Audit Office in Kazakhstan, raising questions about the future direction of the institution and potential candidates to succeed her.
