Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, participated in an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers Council dedicated to the situation in Palestine.
During his address, Nurtleu expressed deep concern over the prolonged humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the only way out is the immediate cessation of hostilities.
Kazakhstan called for intensified efforts to achieve peace, stability, and security for all residents of the region, especially crucial in the lead-up to the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The Kazakh Foreign Minister commended the multilateral mediation efforts led by Qatar and Egypt in the negotiations for a ceasefire and hostage exchange between Hamas and Israel. He also praised Egypt's role in evacuating Kazakh citizens and their families from Gaza for subsequent repatriation, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The session was attended by the heads of foreign ministries of OIC member countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Iran, Turkey, and Morocco. The OIC Foreign Ministers Council adopted a corresponding resolution at the end of the meeting.
On February 28, the President of Egypt announced an imminent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated, "God willing, within a few days, we will achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and be able to assist our people in various regions."
