During an analysis of migration legislation, Shymkent prosecutors discovered cases of providing foreign citizens with fake medical certificates and insurance policies. According to a release dated April 2, 2024, 815 work permits illegally issued to foreign citizens were revoked, and the individuals were deported. The head of the department and a specialist from the Employment and Social Protection Department of Shymkent were held accountable.
The Shymkent Prosecutor's Office also revealed similar violations involving over 6,000 migrant workers who were previously employed. To prevent such breaches, the authorized body in Shymkent implemented a system where medical certificates are only accepted after verification through a QR code.
On February 13, 2024, it was announced that migrants in Kazakhstan would now be monitored online. These measures aim to ensure compliance with migration laws and prevent the issuance of fraudulent documents to foreign workers.
