Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Announces New Deputy's Responsibilities

Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Olzhas Bektenov, announced on April 2, 2024, the specific focus areas of his newly appointed First Deputy, Roman Sklyar, following the appointment of Kanat Bozumbaev. Sklyar's responsibilities will include construction, energy, transportation infrastructure, logistics, industry, subsoil use, and investment project implementation.

Meanwhile, the recently appointed Deputy Prime Minister, Kanat Bozumbaev, will be in charge of regional policy, housing and communal services, water resources, and emergency prevention and response. Bektenov mentioned that Bozumbaev was absent from a recent government meeting as he was overseeing flood stabilization efforts in the regions with the Minister of Emergency Situations.

On March 31, 2024, Kanat Bozumbaev was appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister, having previously served as an advisor to the President of Kazakhstan.
