On April 3, 2024, the senators ratified an Agreement between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on cooperation in the field of aviation search and rescue in case of aircraft accidents. The aim of the law is to facilitate cooperation between the two countries in searching and rescuing passengers and crew members in distress in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The provisions of the Agreement include:
- Strengthening mutual cooperation for the search and rescue of passengers and crew members in distress
- Mutual notification of aviation incidents
- Conducting joint search and rescue exercises
- Exchanging information and experience
The Agreement also entails the obligation of the parties to notify each other of aviation incidents and provide assistance when needed. Overall, the ratification of the Agreement will enhance the efficiency of aviation search and rescue operations in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as strengthen bilateral cooperation in this area.
Previously, the senators ratified an agreement that provides for the mutual recognition of documents on academic degrees in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
