The Minister of Education has issued an order amending the Rules for awarding and sizes of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan's educational grant "Өркен" for the education of gifted children in the autonomous educational organization "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools."
In particular, several points in the rules are presented in a new edition. The grounds for expulsion from school are made available to each student. Once vacancies are available, the grants are awarded in accordance with the rules. The grant is funded from the republican budget.
The rules have also been supplemented with a section on the grant sizes. The grant amounts to 2,349,191 tenge per calendar year without accommodation in the dormitory and 3,247,305 tenge per calendar year with accommodation.
Previously, the grant amounts were 2,150,208 tenge and 3,036,859 tenge, respectively. The order will come into effect on April 4, 2024, and will apply to legal relations that arose from January 1, 2024.
