in Politics / Kazakhstan - by

The Kyrgyz Republic has sent proactive humanitarian aid to Kazakhstan. Vice Minister for Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, Urmatbek Shamyrganov, is accompanying the aid shipment to the population of Kazakhstan affected by the recent floods.

The aid package includes food, clothing, bedding, heaters, and other essentials, destined for residents of Atyrau, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, and Kostanay regions, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.

On April 6, the presidents of both countries held a phone conversation. President Tokayev expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan for the fraternal assistance provided in response to the flooding.

In late February this year, Kazakhstan provided humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan following an accident at the Bishkek Heat and Power Plant. The exchange of aid between the two countries underscores the strong bond of friendship and solidarity during times of crisis.
