The government's decree on April 5, 2024, has granted Karaganda University the status of a research university and approved its Development Program for 2024-2028.

The university's five-year development program includes integrating scientific activities with educational processes, ensuring equality and accessibility to quality education, attracting talented youth, and implementing projects in fundamental and applied sciences to enhance the country's intellectual potential and international reputation.

Furthermore, the program focuses on commercializing research results by selling patents, licenses, and developing startup projects, increasing the university's contribution to societal development. The vision is to become a center for high-tech scientific research and academic excellence.

The mission aims to advance the region and the country through breakthrough scientific research and educational innovations. The direct outcome includes developing key economic sectors through innovative modernization, creating modern technologies, and training highly skilled professionals.

The program values preparing professionals for innovative industries, generating new knowledge and innovations, fostering competitive individuals to serve the state and society, and conducting research in economic modernization, additive manufacturing, control systems optimization, and multifunctional materials development.

Additionally, it offers marketing and engineering services, drives institutional and societal changes, facilitates international consortiums, and relies on university funds and budgetary investments for financing.

The decree comes into effect upon signing, marking a significant milestone for Karaganda University's future development.
