in Politics / Kazakhstan - by

Amendments have been approved regarding the list of light industry goods subject to identification marking, as announced by regulatory authorities. Member states of the union are empowered to ban the circulation of unmarked products starting April 1, 2024.

The marking of new groups of goods will follow unified rules, eliminating the need for re-marking when circulating within the union. The list of goods subject to identification marking includes:

- Clothing items made of natural or composite leather

- Knitted blouses for women or girls

- Coats

- Jackets (including ski jackets) for men or boys, as well as for women or girls

- Various types of household linen

The minimum information required for marked goods includes:

- Global Trade Item Number (GTIN)

- Individual serial number

- Eurasian Economic Union's Commodity Nomenclature code

- Functional name of the product

- Details such as product name, brand, color, size, model, target age and gender, material type, and country of origin

Additionally, information about the economic entity providing data on the marked goods, and the manufacturer for goods produced within member states, must be included. These regulations aim to enhance transparency and traceability in the light industry sector within the Eurasian Economic Union.
