Kazakh President Tokaev and Armenian PM Pashinyan Sign Joint Statement After Talks

On April 15, 2024, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held talks in an expanded format. They signed a joint statement following the meeting. President Tokayev expressed gratitude for the invitation to Yerevan and highlighted the significance of his first official visit to Armenia as president, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the friendship and cooperation treaty.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the vast prospects resulting from President Tokayev's visit, foreseeing decisions that would enhance their cooperation. Several agreements were signed during the official visit, including cooperation in migration, travel arrangements for citizens, amendments to international road communication agreements, aviation cooperation, and sister city relationships.

The morning of April 15 saw President Tokayev's arrival in Yerevan for the official visit. A ceremonial reception was held at the Armenian State Residence. Later, President Tokayev and Prime Minister Pashinyan discussed regional security matters, underlining the positive outcomes of their talks and the strengthened ties between Kazakhstan and Armenia.
