In Kazakhstan, there are plans to cancel the suspension of driver's licenses for minor road accidents without injuries and exclude fines for unpaid parking. These changes are part of the draft law on administrative offenses approved by deputies on April 17 in the first reading.
Sergey Ponomarev stated, "In response to public criticism on the severity of administrative penalties, amendments are proposed. The draft law aims to avoid license suspension for non-injury traffic accidents and remove liability for unpaid parking fees due to their civil law nature."
Additionally, the draft law introduces increased accountability for:
- Operating vehicles with violations of emission standards and noise levels.
- Violating rules for maintaining and protecting greenery to prevent unauthorized deforestation and destruction of greenery in residential areas.
Previously, deputies of the Majilis passed amendments in the first reading to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Road Traffic," which tighten regulations for moped drivers.
