Under the chairmanship of Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Sadyr Japarov, the sixth meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took place. President Tokayev highlighted the development of Kazakh-Kyrgyz interactions in the spirit of strategic partnership, emphasizing the signing of a historic agreement to enhance bilateral relations. He expressed confidence in the meeting's contribution to expanding cooperation spheres and elevating the partnership to a new level.
President Japarov emphasized the importance of deepening partnerships across various areas, stating that the event would further strengthen Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations. Both presidents expressed mutual eagerness to elevate relations to a qualitatively new level, outlining priorities and future tasks for bilateral cooperation. Discussions during the meeting covered trade, economic, transport, logistics, water-energy, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
President Tokayev previously thanked President Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan for their humanitarian aid during significant floods in several regions of Kazakhstan. The fruitful exchange of views and the determination of priorities at the meeting set a positive tone for the future of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan relations, with a focus on mutual support, forward-thinking, and joint problem-solving efforts.
