Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Sign Seven Documents to Deepen Alliance

The Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) has shared a list of documents signed on April 19, 2024, by the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Sadyr Japarov.

Following bilateral negotiations and the sixth meeting of the High Inter-State Council of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, seven documents were signed:

- Agreement on Deepening and Expanding Alliance Relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic;

- Decision of the sixth meeting of the High Inter-State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic;

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on Encouragement and Mutual Protection of Investments;

- Protocol on Amending the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on Border Crossing Points from December 25, 2003;

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan and the State Agency for Personal Data Protection under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic;

- Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan and the State Agency of Architecture, Construction, and Housing and Communal Services under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic;

- Action Plan (Roadmap) for the Development of Automobile Border Crossing Points on the Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan Border for 2024-2027.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov arrived in Kazakhstan for an official visit on April 18, 2024. He was personally welcomed by the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the capital's airport. Later, it was revealed that the heads of the states attended a gala concert featuring artists from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

On April 19, a meeting ceremony for the Kyrgyz President was held at the Akorda. During the negotiations with Sadyr Japarov, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the signing of a historic document for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Following the bilateral negotiations and the High Inter-State Council meeting, the Presidents made a joint statement for the media representatives. During the address, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev disclosed details about the historic document between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
