Kazakhstan's President Tokayev Signs Law Ratifying Amendments to Eurasian Economic Union Treaty

President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, signed a law on April 19th, ratifying the Protocol amending the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union from May 29, 2014. The country's official statement, released by Akorda, confirmed the signing of the law.

The Protocol, signed in Moscow on May 25, 2023, aims to address existing gaps in the current legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union. It focuses on issues related to technical regulation, veterinary and phytosanitary measures, consumer rights protection, non-tariff regulation, and government procurement.

The amendments are designed to enhance cooperation and streamline processes within the economic union. This step signifies Kazakhstan's commitment to aligning its legal framework with the evolving needs of the regional economic integration.
