Kazakhstan Recovers Illegally Acquired Assets for Social Purposes - Details Inside

Today, April 29, 2024, another meeting of the Commission on the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State took place under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov. The government's press service provided details of the meeting.

The Commission approved agreements for the voluntary return of illegally acquired assets to the state totaling over 40 billion tenge. This includes over 38 billion in cash and a business center in Astana worth 2 billion tenge. The returned funds will be allocated for social purposes, including flood relief efforts.

Additionally, the signing of investment agreements amounting to 7 billion tenge was approved. Within these agreements, two infrastructure projects in Astana and Shymkent will be constructed for individuals affected by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets."

"The work on asset return is a direct implementation of the state leader's policy to restore social justice. All returned funds are utilized for the benefit of the people of Kazakhstan," emphasized Olzhas Bektenov.
