President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Inaugurates National Guard Aviation Base in Astana

President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the opening ceremony of the National Guard Aviation Base in Astana.

According to the statement released on May 3, 2024, the head of state congratulated the participants on the upcoming Defender of the Fatherland Day. He emphasized that the opening of the aviation base is a significant event not only for the National Guard but for the entire army.

The aviation base will significantly enhance the capabilities of the security forces and provide opportunities for aviation flights. The state pays close attention to the equipment of the Armed Forces and the development of military infrastructure.

Additionally, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the dedication of military personnel during unprecedented floods, demonstrating loyalty to their oath.

"I particularly want to acknowledge the professionalism and high caliber of our military pilots. They were able to timely and safely deliver humanitarian aid to affected areas, ensure the evacuation of citizens to safe places. I express sincere gratitude to all the military personnel who stood with the people in difficult times."

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev further mentioned that Kazakhstan's military personnel successfully participate in various international missions under the auspices of the United Nations. For example, this year they began independently carrying out tasks on the Golan Heights for the first time.

"Our people have always honored brave warriors. The feats of the defenders of the Motherland will never be forgotten."

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was also shown samples of new aviation, combat, and special equipment of the Armed Forces and other military formations.
