President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is set to visit Moscow on May 8-9. The announcement was made by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia, Dauran Abaev, in an interview with TASS.
Ambassador Abaev highlighted the regularity of meetings between the presidents of the two countries, especially following Vladimir Putin's visit to Kazakhstan in October. The two presidents have already met twice since then - at the EAEU and CIS summits in St. Petersburg, and in February in Kazan at the Games of the Future. The upcoming visit of our president to Moscow is scheduled for May 8-9.
This year, Kazakhstan holds the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Accordingly, meetings between the leaders will also take place within these frameworks.
Ambassador Abaev mentioned plans to visit Ufa, where a Interregional Forum between Kazakhstan and Russia will be held. The agenda for this year is quite packed with various engagements.
On May 8, a milestone summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will take place in Moscow.
