President Tokayev Joins Eurasian Economic Council Summit: Key Cooperation Discussions

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (EEEC) in a narrow format on May 8, as reported. The head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, took part in the regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, according to a statement from Akorda.

Alongside the President of Kazakhstan, the summit was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and Chairman of the EEEC, Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The heads of states discussed the main tasks and key directions of further cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union. They also exchanged views on specific practical aspects of the EAEU's activities. It was previously reported that the head of state laid flowers at the "Otan Ana" monument and paid tribute with a minute of silence to the memory of Kazakhstani soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War.
