The government of Kazakhstan has approved an agreement with the government of Saudi Arabia to exempt holders of diplomatic and service/special passports from visa requirements.
The agreement applies to the following types of passports:
For citizens of Kazakhstan:
- Diplomatic passport;
- Service passport.
For citizens of Saudi Arabia:
- Diplomatic passport;
- Special passport.
However, the agreement does not exempt members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, and representatives of international organizations located in the territory of the other party state, who hold valid diplomatic passports, and their family members from the need to obtain a visa for accreditation to the receiving party before their arrival.
It is also stipulated that citizens of either party entering the territory of the other party are not allowed to engage in any business during their stay, except when it complies with the national legislation of the receiving state.
The agreement is valid for five years and automatically extends for similar periods. The resolution comes into effect from the day of its signing.
Earlier reports indicated that Kazakhstan and Thailand will sign a new 30-day visa waiver agreement.
