Leaders and Manager of Best Road Investment Pyramid Sentenced in Astana

In Astana, the leaders and manager of the financial pyramid Best Road Investment were convicted, as reported by press service of the capital's prosecutor's office.

The essence of the pyramid scheme was to purchase a spot in the Shanyrak Plus program, allegedly for acquiring housing for $103, and to attract two depositors, who in turn had to invite two more each, and so on, building levels in a hierarchical structure.

"Throughout the company's operation from October 2020 to December 31, 2021, not a single one of the 45 depositors received the promised income or housing, with the total damage exceeding 107 million tenge."

According to the prosecutor's office of Astana, the organizers were sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment each, while an accomplice received a 5-year 6-month sentence with a prohibition on holding managerial positions in commercial and non-profit organizations for up to 7 years.

"The damages have been recovered from the convicted individuals. The city's prosecutor's office urges citizens to be vigilant and refrain from investing in dubious organizations."

The conclusion highlighted that the verdict has become legally binding.
