in Politics / Kazakhstan - by

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft Agreement on Strategic Partnership and Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The agreement aims to establish a strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries based on mutual interests and deepening relations in all areas of its application.

This cooperation process contributes to international and regional peace and stability, economic development, and is built on principles that the parties reaffirm through their international commitments, particularly within the framework of the UN and OSCE. The parties also commit to strengthening cooperation on various issues of common interest, such as compliance with international law, respect for democratic principles, rule of law, human rights, and good governance.

Furthermore, they agree to work on improving conditions for further development of regional cooperation, particularly within and beyond Central Asia. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Kingdom is one of Kazakhstan's key political, trade, and economic partners in Europe. There is regular political dialogue, dynamic development, and strengthening of business ties between the two countries, along with joint investment projects being implemented.

It is also noted that there are parliamentary friendship groups operating in Kazakhstan and the UK, as well as the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation, and the Business Council. The document is available on the Open NPA website for public discussion until April 3rd.
