Kazakh tennis player Sonia Zhiyenbayeva, ranked 47th in the junior world rankings, has emerged victorious at the ITF Juniors J300 tournament in the Spanish city of Villena.
In the final, Zhiyenbayeva confidently defeated the top seed of the competition, Julien Vandromme (33 ITF Juniors), with a score of 7:5, 6:0.
This marks Zhiyenbayeva's seventh career title in singles under the ITF Juniors umbrella. Reflecting on her win, Zhiyenbayeva expressed her joy and satisfaction, acknowledging the challenge posed by her opponent and the need to showcase her best tennis to secure the victory.
Meanwhile, the "Masters" series tournament is ongoing in Miami, USA, with women's doubles matches in the first round. Kazakh tennis player Anna Danilina, however, was unable to advance past the opening round.
