Elena Rybakina, the Wimbledon 2022 champion and the world's fourth-ranked player, has progressed to the quarterfinals of the WTA-1000 tournament in Miami (USA).
In the fourth round, the Kazakh player defeated the 17th-ranked American Madison Keys with a score of 6-3, 7-5. The match lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Rybakina served four aces, committed one double fault, and converted three out of eight break points. The head-to-head score between the players now stands at 2-2.
Next, Rybakina will face the ninth-ranked player in the world from Greece, Maria Sakkari, for a spot in the semifinals in Miami.
In another match in the fourth round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Miami, Yulia Putintseva defeated the 36th-ranked Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (7:5).
