Kazakh Tennis Player Yulia Putintseva Reaches Quarterfinals at WTA 1000 in Miami

Kazakh tennis player Yulia Putintseva, ranked 68th in the WTA standings, was defeated by Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, ranked 32nd, in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Miami in three sets - 6:7, 6:1, 3:6.

The match lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes. Azarenka served two aces, committed five double faults, and converted five out of 16 break points. Putintseva scored five aces, had no double faults, and converted six out of nine break points earned.

During the Miami Open, Kazakhstan's second seed Yulia Putintseva caused two upsets by defeating Russian Ludmila Samsonova (15th place) - 1:6, 6:4, 3:6, and Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina (36th place) - 6:4, 7:6.

In the upcoming quarterfinal match, Kazakhstan's top seed Elena Rybakina will face Greece's Maria Sakkari (9th place). Rybakina advanced by defeating the 17th-ranked American Madison Keys with a score of 6:3, 7:5, and started the tournament by defeating Denmark's Clara Tauson.

The Miami tournament is taking place from March 19 to 30 with a total prize pool of $8.9 million.
