Kazakh Chess Champion Bibisara Asaubayeva Wins International Online Tournament

Kazakh chess player and two-time world blitz champion, Bibisara Asaubayeva, emerged victorious in the international online tournament Swiss Queens Wednesday-2024. As a prize, she was awarded a $300 check (almost 135,000 tenge).

The best Kazakh female chess player scored 10.5 points after 11 rounds of Swiss Queens Wednesday, surpassing her closest competitors by 2 points. Out of the total prize pool of $1,000, Asaubayeva received $300.

During this online tournament, Bibisara won 10 games and played only one draw. Vantika Agrawal from India managed to take half a point from her.

The second place went to Teodora Injac from Serbia with 8.5 points ($250), while the third place was claimed by Savita Shri Baskar from India with 8.5 points ($200).

The Swiss Queens Wednesday online tournament series is held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). The strongest female chess players in the world, who have been champions under the auspices of FIDE at different times, participate in these competitions.

The prize pool for each tournament in this series is $1,000. This marks the second tournament victory for Asaubayeva in 2024. In early March, she became the champion at the "Aeroflot Open" chess festival in Moscow.
