The matches of the third round of the Kazakhstan Championship among Premier League teams concluded on March 31. The champion of the First League 2023, "Elimai" club, sensationally defeated "Astana" with a score of 1-0 in Almaty.
The single winning goal was scored by the players from Semey at the very end of the match, thanks to a precise strike by Roman Murtazaev. This victory earned Andrey Karpovich's team three points in the new KPL season.
In another central match of the third round, the reigning country champion, "Ordabasy," lost 1-2 to Almaty's "Kairat" on their home turf. Adilet Sadybekov and Joao Paulo scored for "Shymkent" in response to a goal by Dzhasurbek Yakhshiboyev.
An equally intriguing match took place in Petropavlovsk, where "Kyzylzhar" played a goalless draw with "Tobol" from Kostanay.
One of the main favorites of the current season, "Aktobe," easily defeated the capital's "Zhenis" 3-0 at their home ground.

Summing up the past round, it can be highlighted that currently, two clubs top the Kazakhstan Premier League table: "Tobol" and "Kairat," each with seven points. Following them are "Aktobe" and "Astana" with six points each. The games of the fourth round of the KPL-2024 will take place on April 6 and 7.
