The XVII Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place in Paris, France from August 28 to September 8, 2024. Kazakhstan's Paralympic team currently holds 11 licenses for the upcoming games.
The competitions in Paris will encompass 23 sports. The Kazakhstani team aims to compete in nine sports arenas, including para athletics, powerlifting, taekwondo, table tennis, swimming, judo, canoeing, sitting volleyball, and shooting.
As of April 1, Kazakhstan's Paralympic athletes have secured 11 licenses for the national team, covering various disciplines such as sitting volleyball, athletics (shot put), swimming, canoeing (KL-200), powerlifting, taekwondo, and shooting.
However, this is not the final roster for the Kazakhstan Paralympic team. Before the Paris competitions commence, 23 more sporting events are set to distribute licenses for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
In the previous Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Kazakhstan was represented by 25 athletes who achieved five medals: one gold, three silver, and one bronze, placing Kazakhstan 48th in the overall team standings.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's main team has secured 31 licenses for the upcoming Summer Games in Paris. Recently, Kazakhstani fencers contributed to this success by excelling at the World Cup stage in Tbilisi, Georgia.
