The Kazakhstan women's tennis team has arrived in Tokyo to compete against Japan in the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers on April 12-13. Captain Yuri Shchukin has commented on the team's preparation for the upcoming match.

The competition will take place at the Ariake Coliseum arena on a hard court. The Billie Jean King Cup qualifying matches will consist of four singles and one doubles match, played in a best-of-three sets format.

Shchukin emphasized that the team will put in their best efforts to advance to the final stage of the Billie Jean King Cup. Despite the challenges expected from the Japanese team playing at home, he expressed confidence in Kazakhstan's ability to succeed.

Elena Rybakina, the team's leader, will not be competing in Tokyo as the focus this year is on the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Paris. The coaching staff decided that Rybakina will sit out the match against Japan to maintain her targeted preparation for the quadrennial event.

Meanwhile, Julia Putintseva, Kazakhstan's second seed, received recognition for her outstanding performance in March, with one of her incredible shots being highlighted as one of the best by the WTA.
